The Board of Examiners for Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists is authorized to promulgate these rules under and by virtue of Sections 73-53-1 through 73-54-39 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended.
The Rules & Regulations contain three (3) parts:
Board Information: Authority and Practice (Title 30, Part 1901)
Rules and Regulations for Social Workers (Title 30, Part 1902)
Rules and Regulations for Marriage and Family Therapists (Title 30, Part 1903)
Proposed Rules:
Social Work (Part 1902) - changes to the requirements for starting the supervision process for LMSW licensees.
Marriage and Family Therapy (Part 1903) - updates to ensure R&R align with § 73-54-17 adding CACREP accreditation and updating COAMFTE accreditation.
At the August 17, 2022 meeting, members of the Occupational Licensing Review Commission approved changes to the following Rules and Regulation Sections in Parts 1901, 1902, and 1903. Attached HERE is an explanation of changes as well as the amended sections. The final approval of the Rules and Regulations have been published as of November 17, 2022.
